The easiest way to board a flight early is by having elite status with an airline, flying in a premium cabin or when you fly with young children.

Other ways to get an early boarding benefit is for having a co-branded airline credit card or when you wear a Russell Wilson football jersey! Continue reading Seahawks Fans Wearing Russell Wilson Jerseys Board Alaska Air Early

The Michael W Travels family is currently in Samoa and almost half way done with our trip to the Pacific.

It’s been a busy trip with lots of flying and crappy WiFi in most places so it’s been hard to follow what’s been going on in the world of miles and points. If I missed anything important, feel free to fill me in! Windshield Destroyed By Hail- Pilot Lands Plane, Teen Opens Emergency Door As Plane Taxis, Junk-Foodie Layover in LA, Earn Up To 45,000 Marriott Points, Sex Abusers Arrested After Texting On Plane & More- The Rehash!

RehashThe Michael W Travels family is currently on our Summer Trip Around the Pacific.

We’re currently on the Solomon Islands which doesn’t normally see a ton of tourists. However, that is not currently the case as we coincidentally happen to be here during the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Guadalcanal. There are WWII history buffs and relatives of those who fought in the war all over. We also saw the car for the Prime Minister of the Solomons and New Zealand drive by on the road. After three flights and a couple of long layovers, the Michael W Travels family has begun our trip to the Pacific in the Kingdom of Tonga.

Sundays are a very quiet day in Tonga so we headed to an off-shore island to spend the day. It was definitely a lazy and relaxing first full day to our trip. Happy 11 months to Theo!

There isn’t much else to report since we’ve been super-focused on our current adventure. Continue reading Fight Between Pilot & FA Delays Flight, Cancel Amex Card Through Chat, UNESCO Jumping, Robbed Due to Instagram, Products for Traveling With Baby & More- The Rehash!

The Most Expensive Luggage Storage Ever

For our Summer 2017 trip, the Michael W Travels family will be spending 5 weeks traveling around the Pacific. (Find out How A Call to Fiji Air Saved Me $645.94.)

We used American Airlines miles to book the international flights to and from the U.S. but they were in/ out of California.

Our first international flight was at 11:30 PM from LAX so Kim and I figured we could catch an early flight and spend part of a day wandering around Los Angeles. Continue reading The Most Expensive Luggage Storage Ever

Towards the end of the week the Michael W Travels family will be heading off on a 5 week trip around the Pacific. Kim, Lucas and Theo will visit 5 island nations while I’ll be visiting an additional one. (I’ll post more about our trip later in the week.)

Planning this trip has been a ton of work but my guess is that it will be well worth it once we’re there! Without the help of miles and points this trip would not be possible! It seems like airlines just can’t get it right when they overbook flights….

Low-cost airline EasyJet removed an unaccompanied teenager from an overbooked flight, leaving him by himsef at the gate. I could only imagine how scared and stressed out the boy must’ve been. Continue reading EasyJet Removes Unaccompanied Teen From Overbooked Flight

Most people like JetBlue. They have free snacks and free entertainment like WiFi and DIRECTV. No, they don’t offer free checked bags anymore but what could be so bad about the inflight experience?

Feet. Yes, feet would be the answer for one passenger on a recent JetBlue flight. Continue reading Find Out Why A Passenger Had a Nightmare JetBlue Flight

Cancelled Flights- Lucas & I Get Home on AA Flight That Doesn’t Really Exist!

Lucas and I got home late last night from Pittsburgh. It should’ve been a quick one hour flight.

We were scheduled to fly at 5:50 PM from PIT, getting us into New York’s LaGuardia at 7:14 PM. When we arrived at the gate, it seemed busy but nothing unusual. After standing around for a few minutes, I noticed that the screen said now boarding for a 2:45 flight which was switched to 5:30!

This got me curious. If the flight before ours was delayed, then our flight most likely would be too. Continue reading Cancelled Flights- Lucas & I Get Home on AA Flight That Doesn’t Really Exist!

Last week I mentioned that Lucas and I were going away on a Father- Son Trip.

We got back later last night from a visit to Pittsburgh, PA. I know it doesn’t sound like a glamorous destination but we had a great time. There’s lots of excellent museums, it’s a great sports town and those bridges make for awesome photos!

I plan to write a bit about our trip in some upcoming posts. Continue reading Odd Checked Luggage- A Can of Beer, Free Shake Shack, Queen Doesn’t Need Passport, Wyndham Card Retention, Flight Delay Due To Pee, Screwdriver In A Carry-On & More- The Rehash!
