Kim and I have had many wonderful animal experiences during our travels over the years.

We loved seeing a wide variety of wildlife during our visits to Africa, were educated and got up close with elephants at the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand, swam with turtles in Barbados and got to see turtles lay eggs in Oman. (Check out a post from 2012 which has My Top 5 Animal Encounters.)

Besides trekking to see mountain gorillas in Africa again or swimming with whale sharks, a top animal experience I’ve been hoping to do would be to revisit the Bahamas to see their swimming pigs. Continue reading Swimming Pigs in Bahamas Found Dead

Last month I wrote about how Qantas was being sued for $74 due to a broken IFE.

For those of you unsure of the term IFE, it’s the In-Flight Entertainment system that helps us get through a flight.

It seems that Qantas isn’t doing well when it comes to their IFEs.  Continue reading IFE Injures Toddler’s Finger, Qantas Being Sued

American Airlines Introducing New, Simplified Boarding Process

american airlines

Back in 2011 I earned Lifetime Gold status with American Airlines. An overwhelming majority of the miles earned to get to Gold were due to credit card sign-up bonuses.

American Airlines Gold status is the lowest tier of status and it doesn’t really offer a ton of benefits. However it does allow for one free checked bag and priority boarding. Continue reading American Airlines Introducing New, Simplified Boarding Process

Rehash

The Michael W Travels family headed off on our first international trip of 2017 and it’s been a lot of fun so far. We’re currently on a short visit to Ireland!

We flew to Europe on Iberia and I was a bit surprised by a few things about the airline. It was our first time flying with them and we were disappointed to learn that AA Gold status couldn’t even get us free seat selection. We also found the seats to be extremely uncomfortable, almost claustrophobic. The one good thing we encountered was a tasty meal! How have your experiences been with Iberia?  Continue reading Oddest Airline Passenger, Anthony Bourdain’s Fav Airplane Seat, US Bank FlexPoints to JetBlue Credit, Warren Buffett’s Airline Investments, AA Plane Hits Deer & More- The Rehash!

Superstar actor Harrison Ford can’t seem to keep out of trouble when it comes to piloting his planes.

Back in 2015, Ford was seriously injured when he crashed his plane on a golf course. The crash wasn’t really his fault as it was attributed to mechanical problems.

Now the FAA is investigating Ford. Continue reading Harrison Ford Being Investigated By FAA
