When I travel to new places I love checking out McDonald’s to see what local menu items might be offered.
McD’s also appeals to Lucas, mainly for the toy but it also offers a taste of home (we rarely eat there at home) if/ when you get tired of the local food.
Over the years, I’ve written about McDonalds in we visited in: Continue reading McDonald’s Hong Kong Serves Mac ‘N Cheese Sandwiches!
Katz’s Deli, the legendary eatery on New York’s Lower East Side has expanded for the first time in its 129 year history.
Since 1888, those delicious pastrami sandwiches were only available at the corner of East Houston and Ludlow Street. You can now get a fine sampling of their menu at the brand new DeKalb Market Hall in Brooklyn.

we arrived late in Seoul tired and hungry. While I would’ve liked to have had some local food, Kim and I decided that we needed to be quick and play it safe for our first meal. In the process we’d still get to check off something we do when visiting a new country. , our trip to South Korea
There was a McDonald’s across the street from our guesthouse so it was a good time to check out what local menu items might be available. Lucas would be happy to visit to get a toy! Win, win!

OK, so if you’re making a special trip to Peter Luger, I know you’ll most likely want to try their famous steak (and I don’t blame you) but hear me out on this one…
Peter Luger is considered by many to be the best steakhouse in New York City. If you want to get in, odds are pretty high that you’ll need a reservation which needs to be made a month in advance.
I’ve had steak at Peter Luger and it is really good but it’s also really pricey. If you ask me, a better option for visiting this historic restaurant is to head over during the day to give their awesome burger (available until 3:45pm) a try.

Most of you would probably agree that food and travel go hand in hand .
When visiting a new destination, I try to do some research to find popular places to try out. Most of the time this means the best burgers and pizza in a city.

During our trip to Ireland, the Michael W Travels family dined in pubs quite frequently.
Besides pub dining, Lucas and I were excited to check out McDonald’s Ireland. Lucas was interested in getting a toy and I was looking forward to seeing what local menu items might be available.

I’m always on the lookout for fun things to do close to home. Even when we’re not traveling, it isn’t hard to find ways to keep busy exploring around New York City.
While I’m not a big fan of big, boring museums, I do love museums that focus on odd things as well as food.
I was pretty excited to come across news that Mr. Chocolate himself, Jacques Torres would soon be opening a chocolate museum in the city!

The Michael W Travels family recently got back from an awesome little trip to Ireland.
While Dublin is usually a quick flight from NYC, we flew on connecting flights each way. A small inconvenience is worth it to save on the cost of a flight, if you ask me…
During our travels we got to visit a Priority Pass lounge in three airports. Two of the lounges were solid offering food, snacks, drinks and a place to relax.
The other Priority Pass lounge was quite different and possibly the most interesting one that I’ve ever visited.
