Two Chinese tourists recently got arrested for making the illegal Nazi salute, “Heil Hitler” while visiting Germany.

The distasteful pose was made while they took photos in front of the Reichstag building in Berlin.

The Reichstag building is the home of the German parliament.

The tourists, ages 36 and 49 were arrested by police when they were seen doing the Nazi salute while “photographing each other with their mobile phones“, according to Yahoo News.

The men were released after posting bail of 500€ each. They are being charged with “using symbols of illegal organizations“.

Yahoo mentions how “Germany has strict laws on hate speech and symbols linked to Hitler and the Nazis, who ruled between 1933 and 1945.”

While the tourists might not know that it’s illegal to do the Nazi salute in Germany, I’d like to think that they had to know that it is a disgusting and hateful thing to do. I for one definitely hope that it lands them in some sort of trouble for doing something so stupid.

  1. Chinese tourists don’t know a lot of things. Like not to throw money into an airplane engine for good luck. Like not trying to open a door when the plane is in the air. Like not to take a dump on the plane floor.
