JetBlue Increasing Presence in NYC Area

JetBlue

I always like to hear about more flight options out of the NYC area.

Back in February I wrote about JetBlue adding daily flights to a destination I’d like to visit. Now they’re adding new/ increased service at two of the local airports.

In a press release that I received yesterday, JetBlue “announced new service that will enhance options in the New York metropolitan area and bring Boston customers increased choices for travel to New York

At LaGuardia Airport (LGA) starting October 31, JetBlue will offer six-times weekday service between LGA and Boston’s Logan Airport (BOS). Two roundtrips on Saturdays and three on Sundays will also be offered.

The airline also announced that it was increasing its presence at Newark Airport (EWR).

More flights will be offered between EWR and “five of it’s most popular Florida destinations“. (Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Orlando International Airport, Tampa International Airport, Palm Beach International Airport and Fort Myers’ Southwest Florida International Airport.)

The added flights to Florida destinations will start on October 30.

The president and CEO of JetBlue, Robin Hayes mentioned how increase competition in the NY markets could bring better service and lower fares for NY customers. I definitely hope that he is right!
