Each year numerous travel sites and publications come out with their places to go list for the upcoming year.

Last month I wrote about AAA’s most popular destinations for international travel list. Recently, Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel came out which has lists on a wide variety of areas.

Now it’s Frommer’s turn to share their picks for best places to go in 2016.

Frommer’s editors and travel experts came together to choose their favorite 16 places to go in 2016. According to the article, this is the year to go to many of these destinations, possibly the best time in a while. Others might be places at risk or could potentially get more popular and crowded with tourists.

After looking over the list, I saw that I’ve been to four of Frommer’s picks.

This past summer, Kim, Lucas and I visited Abu Dhabi, We enjoyed our visit but I’m not sure that I’d place it on a list of this sort. If you do go, I highly recommend checking out the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital.

Kim and I went to Bogota, Colombia a few years back and loved the city. There is a lively square with some museums close by as well as some shops. We also enjoyed checking out the street art and statues randomly places up high.

Our honeymoon was to Australia and it is definitely a special place with a great variety of things to do. We really enjoyed Sydney, didn’t have enough time in Melbourne and loved visiting the Outback. I almost booked a flight there for this April but decided on something else…

I can’t say that we’ve visited enough US National Parks but this is something that I’d like to work on in the future. I do love the variety that our country’s parks have to offer. I’m just not a good person to ask about them since I need to see a lot more.
