3 Amex Cards, 2 Different Shop Small Amex Offers

Amex Offers

Over the past few years American Express created a new shopping holiday with Small Business Saturday. By offering card members free statement credits, many of us had a lot of fun doing some shopping on Amex.

One year we combined our credits to pay for most of Lucas’ first car seat. In 2012 we made a full day out of SBS, spreading our credits at a bunch of places. Find out what we did with our credits for SBS last year here.

I was looking forward to another fun Small Business Saturday this year. Then the news came that for 2015 there would not be any Small Business credits. Bummer. The holiday that Amex created was now over…

Then Amex threw some of us a bone.

There has been some pretty lucrative Amex Offers including one where I got $375 in free money.

I log in to check my American Express accounts every few days to see what Amex Offers might be available. Yesterday afternoon I came across a Shop Small offer for two of my cards. Was this a consolation prize for there not being any Small Business Saturday credits? Not exactly…

I currently have three American Express cards. Let’s take a look at the offers I received.

Business Gold Card– No offer.

Amex Offers

Starwood Personal Card: Get $10 back for spending $10 or more at a qualifying small business on the Shop Small Map by 11/28/2015.

I’ll definitely take advantage of this offer as there’s nothing to lose. $10 for free? What’s not to like!

Amex Offers

Starwood Business Card: Get $20 back when spending $100 or more at a qualifying small business on the Shop Small Map by 11/28/ 2015.

I’m debating whether or not it’s worth going for this offer. I’m leaning towards going to a restaurant we like and just buying a $100 gift card. We’ll see..

Some Rules:

  • Valid in-store only
  • Limit 1 statement credit per American Express Card across all American Express offer channels.
  • Must add offer to Card and use same Card to make the qualifying purchase

Did you receive any Amex Offers to Shop Small? If so, which did you receive and do you plan on taking advantage of the offer?
