Air France Showing Star Wars Episode 7 Before Worldwide Release

Star Wars Episode 7

Star Wars Episode 7- The Force Awakens will hit theaters on December 18. It seems like everywhere you look, there is some sort of tie-in to the movie. Toys, clothes, costumes- you name it. There’s even a Star Wars themed ANA plane and Uber sent out Stormtrooper cars to lucky riders in September.

While I liked the original three Star War films, I’m not a fan of the newer ones and have no plans to see Episode 7.

However, if you are a fan, here is a way to see Star Wars Episode 7 a couple of days before it hits theaters worldwide.

Of course there’s a catch.

Air France has a Flight & Cinema offer where those that take part will see the new Star Wars movie before just about anyone else.

The airline along with its partner EuropaCorp CINEMAS are offering a free ticket to the early showing of Star Wars along with a transfer from the airport to the movie theater in a Star Wars shuttle!

To qualify you’ll need to fly on one of four Air France flights on December 15:

  • AF083- San Francisco to Paris
  • AF065- Los Angeles to Paris
  • AF011 New York to Paris
  • AF009 New York to Paris

Flights have to be booked before December 10 and then you’ll need to complete an online form to take advantage of the Star Wars Offer. A confirmation will be received within a few days.

I’m not sure even the biggest Star Wars fan would take a special trip to Paris just to see the new film a couple of days before its release. However, if you happen to be flying on one of the flights listed above, it would definitely be fun to do.

  1. It is being released “early” in France due to a tradition/law that Wednesdays are leisure days (or half days) for kids and thus new film releases are on Wednesdays.

  2. Ryan- I wondered the same thing! Assumed the movie would be shown in English since it seems to only be available to those 4 flights coming in from the US.
