Sexiest Nationalities In The World Are…

sexiest nationalities

Online dating website for travelers, MissTravel.com just released the results from its third annual “The World’s Sexiest Nationalities” poll and the results are somewhat surprising.

Data was collected based on voting from American members of the site which is made up of over 110,000 singles.

A press release that I received says that “America’s views of sexiness are changing. The days of the blonde, blue-eyed bombshell are long gone. If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then the visibility and prevalence of exotic stars both on traditional and social media have greatly swayed the tastes of Americans“.

It also mentions how men and women are more and more looking for a “touch of celebrity“. Examples of “exotic personalities” are Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Liam Hemsworth (not sure who he is). The all have some of the top followed social media accounts.

I didn’t know that having a top followed social media account had a correlation to attractiveness but what do I know…

  1. Adam- It’s an arbitrary list with the stats taken from a small pool of people. While fun/ interesting to read the picks, I wouldn’t take it so seriously…

    JeffinSydney- 🙂

  2. It’s complete rubbish. Several of these countries are very quickly losing ethnocentric identity. Basing sexiness on geopolitical boundaries, especially in areas like North America and Europe, is completely useless.

The United States and Canada are predominantly from Western Europe, which tends to share many genetic traits. Likewise, the UK has become quite a melting pot, as well. The other end of the spectrum is a country like Russia which has a rainbow of genetic features given its reach from Central/Eastern Europe into Asia.

Furthermore, your excerpt from the article mentions both physical traits:

“America’s views of sexiness are changing. The days of the blonde, blue-eyed bombshell are long gone. If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then the visibility and prevalence of exotic stars both on traditional and social media have greatly swayed the tastes of Americans”.

    Then it follows with personality:

It also mentions how men and women are more and more looking for a “touch of celebrity“. Examples of “exotic personalities” are Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Liam Hemsworth (not sure who he is). The all have some of the top followed social media accounts.

So are we basing it on physical traits or personalities? And at what point are we defining personalities based on national identity…or, and it pains me to say this, number of Twitter followers?

That has to be one of the worst “surveys” ever. It’s like something off of Buzzfeed. The article is bad, and the author should feel bad, too.
