Last night I received an interesting offer from my US Airways Dividend Miles Mastercard.
The subject of the message was, “Earn 50% more miles from March 1 through June 30 2015″.
I figured that the message was worth giving a further look since I can’t say that earning extra miles is a bad thing!
Some time in the next months (between April 1 and July 15), my US Airways card will be replaced with the AAdvantage Aviator Red Mastercard.
I’m not really sure if this is a good or bad thing but if Barclays wants me to use this new card, hopefully they will get creative and offer different opportunities to earn extra miles. I guess offering 50% more miles is a decent start.
To earn the 50% bonus, I needed to register for the offer which took just a couple of clicks when logged into my account. (The button shown above was located on the right column on my US Airways credit card account toward the middle of the page.)
Once I clicked the green button, I saw this:
I then checked off the please enroll me box and clicked submit and that was it. I’m now registered to earn 50% more miles for the next few months.
The next thing I wondered was if it was worth taking advantage of this promo? I currently have tons of AAdvantage miles and when I add my Dividend Miles account to it, I am probably good for now with the program. (Although I don’t think you could ever have too many miles).
The thing is, I like to diversify (like I’d bet most of you do). I like having options when I’m looking to book flights. Could the future spend I might place on the US Airways/ AAdvantage Aviator Red be better served going to another card? I guess that’s a personal preference.
More about the 50% bonus miles offer:
- Register and then earn 50% miles on every purchase
- Earn up to 10,000 bonus miles
- Offer is good from March 1 through June 30 (I received the offer at night on March 2)
Barclaycard says that the offer is their “way of saying thank you for being a loyal cardmember“. I’d bet it’s more their way of saying please use our card! 🙂
- This seems to be a targeted offer. If you didn’t receive it and are interested, give a call to 866-419-0881 and see if your account qualifies.
- Registration must be done by June 30, 2015
- Bonus miles should take 6-8 weeks to show up
Did you receive this offer from Barclaycard? If so, do you plan to use your card to earn the bonus miles? I’m undecided…
