Are you usually on-time or late to the party?

I think that Kim and I used to always be on-time, maybe even a bit early until Lucas came along. These days, getting somewhere 15-20 minutes late is considered punctual for us!

What about when it comes to airports and airlines? Do you find flights constantly taking off later than scheduled? Is it the airports fault or the airline?

I came across an article from Smarter Travel that takes a look at “on-time performance statistics for U.S. and international airports as well as domestic and international airlines“.

To get these stats, Smarter Travel looked at the Official Airline Guides (OAG) Punctuality League 2014.

OAG provides aviation data and information. I didn’t bother to download the report, I’m not even sure if it is free. I did check out Smarter Travel’s lists which has the Top 10 for airports and airlines- both domestic & international.

I’m going to list the Top 3 in each category.

Domestic Airports:

  1. Salt Lake City International Airport
  2. Seattle- Tacoma International Airport
  3. Detroit Metropolitan Wayne-County Airport

Worldwide Airports:

  1. Bristol Airport
  2. Osaka
  3. Brussels South Charleroie

Bet Performing Major Airlines:

  1. Hawaiian Airlines
  2. Alaska Airlines
  3. Delta Airlines

How do you feel about delays at the airport? Do you think it’s acceptable or a bit too much these days?

Find out the Top 10 in each of the categories listed above here.
