While I’m not a big fan of visiting  art museums, I do love checking out museums related to odd/ weird topics. I’ve been to a bunch that fit this description over the years.

Here are some that I’ve been to:

Would you be interested in visiting an Ikea Museum? I definitely would!

According to the UK’s Telegraph, Ikea is turning its first store (in Almhult, Sweden) into a museum which will open in 2015.

I can’t say that I’ve ever heard of Almhult or know what else there might be to do in the area, but its only 60 miles away from Malmo. Kim and I visited Malmo years back and really enjoyed the city. We took a train from Copenhagen, Denmark and visited for the day.

The Ikea Museum will cover the history of the company and “intend to tell stories not only on our product range but also on how the IKEA business developed and about people, and of course to give a fun and interactive experience to visitors” according to the managing director for the site.

So what do you think? Would you like to learn all about Ikea in it’s very own museum?
